For Raw Video Stuff on 700D..

This is How i Installed ML on my 700D..
After Downloading Files on that link..you'll find this 2 files..
 - 700D.111-16082013-ML.zip
 - EOScard.exe

As he Doing in the video, first we must give a low level format to our card..I have used my Scandisk 8GB Extreem card for this.
Unzip the files on 700D.111-16082013-ML.zip to the card and Copy EOScard.exe to it.It'll look like this..

Then Run EOScard.exe..and Put Settings like this..

Then press Save button..Then It'll Look like this..

OK..Now Put the card in Camera and turn Mode Dial on Manual (M)..then turn on your camera..if you have installed ML before this time on camera,ML Loads Normally when press trash button..In my camera it looked like this..

In Video Mode..

But if you Installing ML for the First time, you have some few more steps..
After you done these steps, press Trash button in normal window..if you seen no changes,That's fine..
Now Go to the Menu and this Sub Menu..

Now select the firmware update and let you are camera install ML.If anything goes wrong, please put battery out and Turn on camera Again..here is some snaps on ML menu..

Enjoy ML...Please Stay updated with ML official web site..For now I'm using it for only Timelapse Works..for this far I didn't had any crashes or anything wrong yet..I noticed that in video live view we can see some red lines in bright areas like bulbs..but it is not in the video footage.please check ML site for new builds..thanks..Untill next time..

Minimum Focusing distance testing of Extension tubes..

Extension tube is a cheap option for getting in to Macro photography. But it can give us great result too..in this post i am going to tell you about my recently bought Ex tube set..
As you know these is 2 types of Extension tubes.with and without electrical connections..This one is without Electrical connections (also the cheap one ;))..That means there is no Auto focusing and aperture changing (You can do it manual.I have explained it below)..

I am using it with my 50mm f/1.8 lens.it is all metal build and 5pcs..

As you can see,by changing these pcs you can adjust the distance between front element and the sensor..It'll help to get the minimum focusing distance you want..I'll show you how the minimum focusing distance change with this..

let's take a look at lens minimum focusing Distance without Ex tubes..

canon says It's min focusing distance is 45mm but as above pic it was 35cm..I think this is EF lens and it was due to my camera's crop sensor..here is a samlpe...

As you can see in above picture, there is 3 middle tubes with different lengths.when we change each different middle lengths has it's unique minimum focusing distance.now you can see how he minimum focusing distance changes with each middle tube..

at first, let's take a look without middle tubes..these are the samples i got..

i was pretty close when compare to without EX tubes..I measure the min focusing distance as below...

it was about 12cm..big change huh..let's see how it change with middle tubes..firts i inserted no 1 with 9mm long..a got below samples..

Let's check what the M.F.D. is..

it was 9.5cm..then i inserted 1 and 2 tubes..samples are below..

let's check the min focusing distance..

it was 7 cm..then i put all rings together..then got follow samples..

It was little bit difficult to get in focus because Depth of field was very low..as there is no aperture ring in my lens..I thought it is unable to change aperture.but after i googled it,i found a tricky way.I'll show it later.in this test i was unabled to do that.

in this time, there was only 5cm..

Now it seems like mounted a big zoom lens huh..with controlled aperture,I think it can give me a more great result.worth it a try.I'll check and post it later..

Then I inserted number 2 tube..Results were
these..

The Min focusing Distance was 7.5cm..

I know now this is getting bored right ;)..only 2 left...hang on..then the 2 + 3...

Hmmmm it was 6.5cm and then the 3..

It was 6cm..Ok,It's over..As you can see, when the tube gets longer, you can get more close to the subject..The main difficulty is low DOF..As a told you before,You can change it..but  it is not little easy..
You can put the aperture you want and press the DOF testing button, then remove the lens while pressing it..if you have Ex tube with electrical connections, then no problem..skip these..but it's little expensive I think..

Final words..As a beginner,It was all new Experience for me..I had some problems before, but now I am getting the answers..Because a dedicated macro lens is very expensive (for guys like me,actually) this is a great option.if you are not shot with one before..give it a try,I'm sure pretty worth it.. After these test i had some good shots yesterday..I'll  post them later..Thanks for the reading..please note that this is some thoughts from a Amateur who learns..it any mistakes or i done anything wrong, please let me know it by a comment..also my English is bad..sorry for it too..Don't forget to put a comment..until next time..

Got my First prime 50mm..

Few Days ago,I got my first prime lens.."nifty fifty","Fantastic plastic" whatever you call it..it is the cheapest lens in canon's lens lineup as I know..
I got it for  Rs 13 900 ( Around 105 $) in Sri Lanka with one year warranty..It is Equal 80mm with my 700D..I'll show you first few thoughts I put my fb page about it..

- It feels like it's closest focusing distance is too far for Macro..i think it's time to use extension tubes..
- After using my 18-55 IS STM,this ones auto focus feels more noisy and slower for me..video auto focus is going crazy..And one thing, you can't use extension tubes without electrical connections with STM lenses, not shure for all,but my one...this focus ring only sending a signal for motor..it's nice that now i can test my extension tube set..
- had some low light shots with it..it's really sharp and low light performance is good..but when it comes to lower than f1.8 ,it's bokeh's roundness is loosing..i think it is due to shutter blades..you can see if get closer to front element when if is in lower f-stop..another thing is it is equal 80mm in my crop sensor body (1.6x)..some times it feel more zoomed but it's ok i can go backward and have my shot..
- Just got my extension tube set and Keva 52mm UV filter for this lens.
I have done some Testings with Ex tube set and I'll Post them later..Thanks..

Canon 700D with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM

As you know, few days ago i bought my new friend,Canon 700d..I have spend few days with it and i think it is time to say how it felt in my hand..

As i am a armature, new to DSLR's,this is a hole new experience for me..i bought it with Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM as bundle..first,i am very happy with it's inner focusing system.i have some experience with it's non STM version.compare to this it is very slow in focusing and little bit noisy..in STM lens,i can only hear it's focusing sound when ear is very close to middle of the lens barrel..in video mode with Auto focus, there is no any noticeable sound i got in my testings..

Around 18mm,images feel more sharper than Around 55mm..just a bit..but in macro mode,i got some good sharp shots with some zoom in minimum focusing distance..i am full satisfied with it's macro capability.i will upload some samples later..

in zooming,i felt i need some more...but it's not a lens problem..it is doing it's best in it's focal length.i am hoping to buy a zoom lens later.

comes to camera body,700D's new mode dial feels good..touch screen also very help full..when i am getting a macro shot (my favorite) with live view, checking focus is very easy where i want..screen can adjusted for any position..it can get best out of me..also i bought a leather hand strap and now my hand fits through the grip and strap very nicely..and a camera bag,a UV filter for lens Protection..i am uploading some photos of the lens with this post..

so this will be my quick thoughts on my new camera..for this far,i am fully satisfied with my new camera body and the lens..i think i got something for money i spend over 650D..samples and more coming..once again i am a beginner..feel sorry for any mistakes..until next time..
